Learn how to cook some delicious traditional Lebanese dishes including: flatbread with herbs (Zaa'tar Man'ouche), chopped parsley salad (Tabouli), spiced cauliflower (Zahra Meqila), and chick pea dip (Hummus).

Sri Lankan Family Style

Be inspired to create a Sri Lankan family-style cuisine with owner and chef, Samantha Fore of Tuk Tuk Sri Lankan Bites. Students will make dishes and present them to their fellow classmates, discuss various spices, and learn the history of Sri Lankan style food. Students will create and enjoy Chicken Curry, tempered green beans, potato curry, and scented rice. Come hungry and leave full!

Daisy Alliance Nuclear Non Proliferation Simulation

Description:Interested in diplomacy, foreign affairs or nuclear proliferation? Travel to Atlanta, GA February 22-24th to participate in a multi-university simulation about nuclear proliferation within East Asia. Represent a country/delegation like North Korea, Russia, USA, Japan and make treaties, negotiate with other countries, and form alliances.

This is a weekend trip with a stipend provided. Travel is provided by the university. This is a great opportunity to gain more hands on experience battling crises and issues that happen in today's political atmosphere!

Issam Rafea Oud Performance

Please join UK College of Arts & Sciences Passport to the World Program - Year of Migration, in welcoming musician Issam Rafea to the University of Kentucky. Rafea will be performing on January 31st in the Niles Gallery of the Lucille Little Fine Arts Library.

Populism, Trump, and American Democracy in Comparative Perspective

Join the UK College of Arts & Sciences and the Department of Social Theory for a guest lecture on, "Populism, Trump, and American Democracy in Comparative Perspective." This lecture is part of the Spring 2019 Lecture Series by The Committee on Social Theory.

Kenneth M. Roberts is the Richard J. Schwartz Professor of Government at Cornell University. His research and teaching interests focus on party systems, populism, social movements, and the politics of inequality in Latin America. He is the author of Changing Course in Latin America: Party Systems in the Neoliberal Era (Cambridge University Press) and Deepening Democracy? The Modern Left and Social Movements in Chile and Peru (Standford University Press). He is also the co-editor of The Resurgence of the Latin American Left (Johns Hopkins University Press), The Diffusion of Social Movements (Cambridge University Press), and Beyond Neoliberalism? Patterns, Responses, and New Directions in Latin America and the Caribbean (Palgrave-MacMillan). His current research explores the political impact of financial crises in Latin America and Southern Europe from a cross-regional comparative persepective.
