Linda Arnold, professor emerita of history at Virginia Tech University, will speak on the topic at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, in the Niles Gallery of the Lucille Little Fine Arts Library.
Jana Morgan, Ph.D, comes from the University of Tennessee as WIPS' featured speaker this spring semester. Her research involves issues of inequality, exclusion and representation. Mainly, she focuses on exploring how economic, social and political inequalities affect marginalized groups and undermine democratic institutions and outcomes. She will be presenting her latest work titled: "Patterns of Inequality and Latin American Support for Redistribution."
In an upcoming lecture titled "Chinese-American Educational Exchanges: A Window on the Bilateral Relationship," David Adams will explore the growing partnership between two of the world's largest powers.

This workshop will teach students how to tie the traditional Indian woman dress, the sari. Once students learn how to tie a sari, there will be a small competition to see who can tie their sari the fastest. Refreshments will be provided.
In this lecture/workshop, Dr. Donna Lee Kwon will introduce Korean music and facilitate its understanding by focusing on its unique characteristics. She will discuss traditional folk genres such as p'ungmul drumming, p'ansori, and folksongs but also bring out cultural continuities in Korean popular music as well. Come prepared to sing, dance and tap the rhythms of Korean music.
