Earlier this year, the Catholic University of Peru selected Associate Professor Cristina Alcalde of the Department of Gender & Women's Studies to be one of six international visiting professors and scholars.
 
Alcalde spent her time at the university teaching a graduate seminar on femicide and violence against women.

UK Students Named Fulbright Recipients
Four students from the University of Kentucky have been selected as recipients of Fulbright U.S. Student Program scholarships. The UK recipients are among 1,900 U.S. citizens who will travel abroad for the 2013-2014 academic year through the prestigious program.

Wei Jiang: Developing an Online Chinese Curriculum for High-Schoolers

Since 2006, Wei Jiang has been a member of a team developing a series of online Chinese Language & Culture courses, taught through BlackBoard, aimed toward high school students. Once the curriculum is completed, courses will range from Chinese I to AP Levels I and II. These are currently available to students, and level III is in development.
