The Society of International Studies is the student organization founded by and run by International Studies majors. Because the International Studies major is so interdisciplinary, students may find it difficult to connect with their peers in this field of study. The Society of International Studies is the student organization aimed at helping make those connections.
Officers and members of the Society of International Studies hope to bring together the campus community through the planning of events and memorable guest speakers which will inspire lively dialogue and educate individuals on topics and issues in: culture and arts, diplomacy, globalization, human rights, environmental issues, economic and social development, and much more.
We also hope to encourage students of other majors to join the Society of International Studies student organization and share with us their knowledge and ideas. Our organization’s primary goal is to look for ways to bring together our diverse campus and promote student engagement in global affairs. As students with a passion for international studies, we have the ability to all be leaders and discover ways to make a difference at the University of Kentucky and in the world.
